Bubba Wallace Issues Apology After Wrecking Kyle Larson At Las Vegas

Seems like Bubba Wallace has had some time to reflect on his actions from yesterday’s NASCAR race. And now he’s issuing an apology.

In case you missed it, on lap 94 of the NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400, Kyle Larson made a pass on Kevin Harvick to go neck and neck with Bubba Wallace who was coming past Harvick on the outside.

But Wallace, in a wild and high-speed display of retaliation, took out Larson after the contact, ending both of their days, and taking Christopher Bell, a playoff driver, out in the process.

And then after the wreck, Bubba took off his helmet, walked over to Larson who was exiting his own car, and started shoving him.

Immediately following the race, Bubba was rather pointed in his criticism of Larson:

“When you get shoved into the fence, deliberately like he did, trying to force me to lift, steering is gone… Larson wanted to make a three-wide divebomb, never cleared me.

And I don’t lift, so I know I’m kinda new to running up front, but I don’t lift…. just a piss poor move on his execution.”

And when asked about the dangers of retaliating like that, at those high speeds, Bubba told the trackside reporter:

Seemed like a valid question to me, especially given the injuries we’ve seen in this new car this season. But ok…

And finally, when asked about taking out fellow Toyota teammate in Christopher Bell in the process, Bubba called it “sports.”

But it seems like Bubba’s calmed down a little bit. Had some time to reflect on his action (and his reaction). And, let’s be honest, probably heard from his team owners and sponsors.

In a statement posted to social media, Wallace apologized for his actions after the wreck – but seemed to stop short of apologizing to Larson for wrecking him, aside from the fact that Christopher Bell was taken out in the incident.

“I want to apologize for my actions on Sunday following the on-track incident with Kyle Larson and the No. 5 car.

My behavior does not align with the core values that are shared by 23XI Racing and our partners, who have played a crucial role in my incredible journey to the top of this great sport.

I want to apologize to NASCAR and the fans, along with Christopher Bell, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Toyota for putting them in a situation in the Playoffs that they do not deserve.

I compete with immense passion, and with passion at times comes frustration. Upon reflecting, I should have represented our partners and core team values better than I did by letting my frustrations follow me outside of the car. You live and learn, and I intend to learn from this.”

NASCAR Fans Call For Bubba Wallace’s Suspension After Dangerous Retaliation Against Kyle Larson There has yet to be any disciplinary actions taken by NASCAR over the retaliation, but needless to say, fans are not happy with Wallace, and many are calling for his suspension.

With the amount of concussion issues we’ve seen this year, including what may be a career ending injury for Kurt Busch, it’s clear these Next Gen cars are not as safe as they should be.

So is intentionally causing a wreck at such a high rate of speed suspension-worthy?

Of course Bubba has probably the largest group of haters in NASCAR and they couldn’t wait to get on the Tweeter and scream for a permanent ban, but this seemed to be more than just your usual Bubba haters calling for a suspension:

First I must make note that blubba Wallace came up the nutscar ladder using the nutscar Diversity Program to get up to the Cup level of nutscar and when he hit a roadblock of sorts. I personally think that is why noosegate happened. It was a way to climb that last 1/2 rung of the ladder. He came out of noosegate smelling like a rose. 23XI Racing Team was created by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan as a Team to coddle blubba up that last 1/2 ladder rung. 23XI Racing Team has Leased/Purchased it’s Cars, Engines, Equipment, Crew, Physical Training and Playbook from Joe Gibbs Racing aka JGR. One of the top teams in nutscar. This is a Silver Platter Buffet laid right in front of blubba for the taking and he should not need for anything, EXCEPT for him to apply Morals and Responsibility to what has been provided for him.
So far I don’t see blubba doing the right things with all that has been given to him...

I need to define a few terms I’m using in this Post:
1) nutscar standards is an open ended cluster fork as we all know.
2) race, in lower case type will refer to racisism.
3) Race, in the upper case will refer to Racing.
4) Racing Incident will refer to an unintended contact between 2 or more cars.
5) Pit Maneuver is when the vehicle behind puts the right front corner of the car into the left rear of the leading vehicle and nudges into it making the leading vehicle spin out.

OK let’s take a closer look at this situation and compare it to the usual nutscar standards.

During Sunday’s nutscar Cup Race on Lap 14 of Stage 2 in Turn 4 there was a Racing Incident involving the 5 car of Kyle Larson and the 45 car of blubba Walace that went from an Anthill into Mt. Vesuvius for no reason other than the race card being played. The incident collected the 20 car of Christopher Bell (a Driver still in the Playoff BS) ultimately knocking Bell out of the Race. Also putting Bell’s car backwards into the wall. Very similar impact to other wrecks that have sidelined Kurt Busch and Alex Bowman with Concussions that may be Career ending.

Note: blubba had already lead like 23 Laps in this Race. Had he kept his feces compacted there was a possibility of leading more Laps and possibly getting another Win...

After the initial contact of the incident which was the result of the 5 car going low and the 45 going high, splitting to get past the 4 car resulting in the 5 car drifting up into the 45 with minimal contact between the two cars and the 45 car getting into the wall with the right front. (We’ve all seen the same thing hundreds of times before over the years/decades.) Here is where/when Blubba turned a Race Incident into a race incedent after coming off the wall and then turning hard left and accelerating till blubba caught up with Kyle’s car and pulled a reverse Pit Maneuver that was a few notches above the usual nudge that starts the spin. This took the 5 and the 45 back up the Track into oncoming Traffic where they both slid to a stop. Blubba then exited his car (against the standard rule of dropping the window net as a signal to Track Safety and Rescue Teams that the driver is OK and then the driver is supposed to stay in the car until the Safety/Rescue Team arrives at the scene using the Safety Trucks to block any incoming Race Traffic to secure the scene.) blubba then started walking down track towards Larson’s stopped car, Helmet, HANS Device and Gloves off at a brisk heavy walk with a bad attitude look on his face and mouthing off on the way.

Meanwhile Larson, standing by his car is removing his Safety Gear and talking to the Safety Worker while waiting for the Ambulance as Drivers are required to visit the Infield Care Center. Larson turns around to blubba approaching while still mouthing off and making gestures and drops his Safety Gear and then proceeds to start swinging and punching Larson who is blocking and trying to evade blubba’s Attack as a NUTSCAR Official tries to get blubba calmed down. They finally get him into the Ambulance and off to the Infield Care Center.

At the Infield Care Center blubba is the first one released and continues his race card crap during the interview still blaming Larson for the entire eruption of Mt. Blubbasuvius and even telling the Reporter to stop “fishing” while he continues to blame Larson for everything. Larson comes out of the Care Center and apologizes for His part of the situation and makes it clear blubba in effect took himself out of the Race.

In My opinion blubba played his race card with the Noosegate fiasco at Talledega by creating a big scene, dragging 15 fibbe’s and the A$$m€dia into a big too-doo about a garage door pull rope that had been the same for years. Even managing to get the Queen of Formula 1, Hammy the butt boy to make a race simpathy call and start a we race as one kerfluffle with knees being taken and all.

So let’s do a comparison here of disciplinary action(s) taken or not by nutscar.

Kyle Busch pulled the same basic stunt in Texas during a nutscar Truck Race on Friday November 5th 2011 by intentionally crashing into the back of Ron Hornaday who was in contention for the Championship while under a Caution, spinning Hornaday into the wall and putting him out of the Race. Busch’s action was in retaliation for contact earlier in the Race while battling for second place. On Saturday nutscar announced that Busch was suspended for the rest of the weekend forcing him to miss the Busch and Cup Races. Also JGR and Major Sponsors for Busch are in discussions about continued sponsorship.
Now blubba does basically the same thing and it takes nutscar several days to decide that blubba will only miss this weeks Race at Miami-Homestead.

IMO blubba should be parked for the remainder of the Season, Fined $50,000 and sent to an Anger Management Course. But nutscar will never do that because they are afraid of the racist backlash if they do so.
