“Riding a horse drunk maybe idiotic but doesn’t warrant a DUI, nor does it on a bicycle, lawn mower etc”

I remember George Jones getting busted for DUI driving a riding mower, after his wife(?) took his keys.

“Not for DUI.
A person operates a motor vehicle upon a public street or highway while intoxicated.
Key element is the driver must be operating a motor vehicle.”

Yep, that is absolutely the way the law reads.

TSTC or I, used to be a USAF Base. Pretty good school nowadays. I attended in the early 90s. Had some severe fun. Lol. Look up my TX posts. Ran around with legends. Seriously.

Save you some time...first friend I made was Eddie Shaver, ole chunk of coal son of Billy Joe. Dynamite guitar player. One of the bestest friends I ever had, save my brother.

well...actually I’m in Redmond. I avoid downtown Seattle now - we used to have a condo in Pioneer Square and sold it - one morning we went outside and there was a dead body.

My friend I got tickets for speeding on our bicycles when we were teenagers

Yeah we were, but still it was really lame and in my opinion the cop was a douchbag.

Yes we were doing the claimed 32 in a 25

Well that sucks.

I've seen enough dead people in my life to last the end of my days..

Sorry you had to see that....

Take care....

I remember a couple of Jack's Restruants. Can not remember if Bob's was there in 1959 to 1961 or not. Lots of fun. I do remember on night we got our little MG high centered on the divide in the road. A few strong guys "lifted" us up and back onto the road.....LOL

Fun times cruising Whittier. Went to WHS and then to PHS the first year it opened.

Respectfully disagree. In most cases, the rider is guiding the horse, but if the horse spooks at something, horses have no concept of “traffic isn’t safe” or “that’s a major roadway.” (Lifelong rider here). They are prey animals and will flee headlong without regard for anything except escaping whatever frightens them.

(WARNING: Graphic and very disturbing video of a horse hit by a car after the rider fell off) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkd3yMCuY3Y&t=205s
