Churchill would weep if he saw his Britain today. I know my Mom would, if she were alive today. She was a Brit. But she became a naturalized US citizen when we were kids. She cried; she was so happy and proud to become a US citizen. But, she never really lost her accent, and she died at 90.

90 is a solid life. Now she’s in a better place.

My mother was born and raised in Manchester. She didn’t meet my USAF father until after the war and they got married in 1950 in Chicago. He was transferred to Alabama for 3 years shortly after I was born and then back to England for 5 years, so her accent really got muddled along the way.
