My mother was born and raised in Manchester. She didn’t meet my USAF father until after the war and they got married in 1950 in Chicago. He was transferred to Alabama for 3 years shortly after I was born and then back to England for 5 years, so her accent really got muddled along the way.
My Mom was from Lancashire. She met my Dad during the war. He was a pilot with the US 8th Air Force.
