I think many who support Democrats do not have “criminal hearts “. They are uninformed or in denial. Also, Republicans have not always exactly been champions of life, and of a fair shake to the little guy. So they are with the “devil they know”. It has not occurred to them to be unaffiliated, independent.
Ask them why they vote Democrat.
They’ll give baloney answers at first.
Keep asking.
It will come down to the belief that the Democrats will steal money for them.
