Go back and take a look at how popular our previous drafts were before they were reimplemented. I’m sure glad we have an all knowing source to put our minds at ease. Thank you for not making the first attempt to explain your decree. No one wants to think about hard questions like where the DC warmongers will get the cannon fodder to make the Ruskies pay, non nuclear, mind you, after the next escalation. Do you have Barry’s wand to waive to cure the current recruitment and retention calamity? When the Chicoms move on Taiwan are you going to sell Taipei out by not honoring the big guy’s pledge to back them up? Meddlesome questions for you to ignore.
I don’t believe there will be a draft because I believe there is a lack of unity of purpose for those of draftable age, let alone society at large. A large group of people simply won’t serve in a military role.
Maybe there is a place for a non-military service, but even then, I believe a unity of purpose will result in less than favorable results.
If people are not willing to service with very good educational benefits post-discharge that includes tuition, books, BAQ, etc, I find it difficult to imagine that such people can be compelled to military service.
