I’m pretty sure NFL teams generally have an official policy forbidding cheerleaders from fraternizing with players.

Maybe now, but that’s not the way it used to be.
There used to be a time when fraternalizing was pretty normal. It’s only been a relatively recent change, with the risk of lawsuits and all that.

And it’s probably limited to the same team, so if a player or cheerleader goes to another team there are probably no restrictions.
