For most of the past decade, there's been rampant speculation that the NFL might eventually put a team in London and although that hasn't happened yet, it's an idea that the league is still considering.
As a matter of fact, not only is the NFL thinking about putting one team in London, but Roger Goodell actually floated the idea of putting an entire division in Europe. The commissioner's comments came over the weekend while he was in London for the Giants-Packers game.
During an interview, Goodell was asked about the possibility of London getting a team.
"There's no question that London could support, not just one franchise, I think two franchises. I really believe that," Goodell said, via NFL UK. "That's from a fan perspective, from a commercial standpoint, from a media standpoint. I think [London] has proven that."
Goodell was then asked if the league would ever consider putting an entire NFL division in Europe, which would consist of four teams.
"That's part of what we're doing," Goodell said. "We're trying to sort of see, could you have multiple locations in Europe where you could have an NFL franchise, because it would be easier as a division."

How about the India Colts? Truly a global sport.
I quit watching when National Felching League arrived on the scene.
Maybe a game between Kyev and Moscow.
Nah.
I agree with that. Nowadays, football players are much faster and stronger than the boys who played back in the '50s.
LOL, I used to be one of the people here joking about soccer, but since NBC started showing the games (it's been 10 years!) I am hooked. It really is the beautiful game.
Can't wait for the Cup
Rome-Centurions, Berlin-Stosstruppen, London-Nigels and Paris-Escargot. Got your division.
The same league that insulted their fans now wants to do the same to new fans on a different continent.
If Australian or Canadian football wouldn't take in the UK, why would American football? Better tattoos? More trash talking? More kneeling to Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM?
American major league sports have reduced themselves to little more than a show for legalized gambling.
The thing is, people say that all Haaland has to do is sit in the box and wait for the pass. But I make a point of observing his movements, he is like an NFL receiver who runs precise routes and knows how to create space. Plus he can motor.
When are they going to rename the Patriots? I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet!
I like The Berlin Blitzkrieg.
I noticed they played with the “Patriot Pat” uniforms against the Lions. Such a better look than their current uniform.
Nothing like SEC football. Nothing.
They are the 1980’s Pats again. Not sure they would be missed. Ha ha.
Well they sure looked better than my team.
1. How does a U.S. collective bargaining agreement work with European laws?
2. Would an NFL team in Europe attract any star talent? Who the hell would want to play there and pay European taxes on enormous salaries?
3. Would U.S. teams really want to travel to Europe regularly for games outside their division?
The only upside I see to this for the NFL is that scheduling games in Europe allows them to routinely start the Sunday NFL schedule at 9:00AM Eastern Time and run for more than 15 hours every week.
Football starts on Saturday. If you want NFL...that starts at 1pm EDT on Sunday. Otherwise...pi$$ on the NFL and those in the UK who want to watch NFL. Tell them to get a telly and a DVR.
Maybe a London team would work. I thought the Jaguars were going to be “London’s Team”.
Yeah that’ll work, NOT !
Might work if they stuck to Sunday night games. Most Premiere League games are over by 530-600 pm.
London, maybe Germany. Couple exhibition games in Warsaw could be interesting. Can’t see it catching on in Mediterranean Europe.
I think alot of defenders are just intimidated by him.
One thing I didn't know about EPL, especially compared to other European football, is how physical they let them play. But I haven't seen any defenders realoly going after him.
