WAAAAAAAAYYYYYY offshore........................
I’ve been back to Sicily a couple of times...took the family on the last trip. Flying into Catania from Rome, the British Air pilot did a leisurely sightseeing spin along Mt. Etna. There was a thick smoke plume. We were all over the island for the 10 days we were there, but never too far out of sight of Etna. We left and, in a few days, it blew. Took out a number of buildings near the top. The hotel and other tourist-traps at the top had already been taken out years before. The newly destroyed buildings were lower down the slope.
Tell that to the cluster of buildings who weren’t in the way ... this time.
