Reily mentioned a long list of equipment useful in visualizing viruses.
We could well add to that list DNA analysis used to distinguish one similar virus from another -- that's how they know whenever a new mutation appears.
But all you did was handwave them away -- "irrelevant", you say.
Well, of course, if you close your eyes and refuse to see the evidence, then you can "honestly" claim there is none.
But the evidence remains, regardless of whatever fabulous stories you concoct to wish it away.
