This 2018 lecture appears very accurate retrospectively. The first 45 minutes is Pozner's lecture, followed by an equally good question and answer period.
It is one of the most objective presentations I have heard, especially about how the Clintons created Putin.
We’re probably among a few who know what an interval signal is.
A little radio trivia for those who are not quite bored enough yet: For shortwave broadcasts, an interval signal was a repetitive loop often of music or musical notes given a few minutes before the broadcast officially began - this was so listeners could find and tune in the station on their old analog receivers.
Oh wow - that brings back memories of the Cold War days.
A bunch of them here.

My favorites were Radio Nederland and Radio RSA (South Africa)
I always enjoyed also the swinging version of “Moscow Nights” they played on Radio Moscow.
I was heartbroken when Radio Australia stopped broadcasting on shortwave. They had a strong signal and very good audio quality.
First question asked - implied Russian interference in Trump’s election. Pretty well tosses a huge discrediting into the discussion.
The speaker does make valid points - but while he pretends to be “unbiased”- even going to great lengths to make it VERY clear he is “independent” and represents no-one but himself - which is a hallmark of those who are most definitely on a particular side.
Yes- he does present so facts/truths - but completely ignores Russian aggressions over the years leading up to that lecture (which was in 2018). He ignores Russian actual meddling in near neighbors. He ignores Putin’s old rhetoric.
Exactly- It’s the US... US policy. US actions. US attitudes... Russians and Russia/Putin are innocent victims.
Speaking of shortwave radio . . . I’ve long wanted to get a shortwave radio and now I’ve got the time and financial wherewithal. But I’ve read that shortwave isn’t what it once was, with everything now available on the internet. (I have no interest in listening on my iPad.) Is that true? Or is it still as bustling and interesting as ever? If so, is it possible to get a good shortwave radio for under $150? Any recommendations? Thanks!
“I’m not a Putin fan, just trying to connect the dots.”
Same here. I try to listen to all perspectives and dort facts from opinion.
He outlines how Clinton double crosses Putin. The audience was definitely liberal.
I’m such a nerd, I found out the sources a lot of those interval signals...

I remember Pozner. He always made my skin crawl, and not in a good way. He was clearly a highly-skilled shill for communism. Western media loved him because he was slick and spoke excellent English — the only criteria they cared about.
Radio Moscow sometimes broadcast music of a Russian band that played New Orleans-style jazz. Not everything was grim propaganda. Sometimes there was something fun. Back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, you didn’t have streaming technology with hundreds of channels.
I try going on occasionally, pretty much all there is now is religious broadcasters
Thank you for your comment. This is why I posted the link.
Your point of clarification has merit and helps me to understand it better.
AFRTS used to have a shortwave channel, it was really cool because sometimes you could get games on the radio you couldn’t get anywhere else.
Don’t forget the East German anthem!

Haha I need to ping SaveFerris for that one.
Actually the real East German anthem I always thought was a pretty anthem.
Totally agree with you that he ignored Russian aggression. Those were my thoughts when I listened to it.
Thanks very much for posting that. It was excellent.
