Where is the money coming from for this stuff? Who funds and pays for this? Can you imagine anyone you work with, or a neighbor paying to see this? We are in the a terrible stagflation right now. The economy is in ruins. Who are the "angels" funding this schlock?

I also wonder who holds the rights to this material? You can't just put on a production of someone's material without paying out serious coin.

Rich liberals, mostly living off of trust funds set up by their parents or grandparents who worked for a living.

One important thing I learned during my art education is that works of art in museums, plays that reach the stage, music that gets promoted, and other art forms find success due to the money that promotes them. If conservatives wish to see a change in the arts, then work your way onto the Board of Trustees for your local art museum, become a funding member of your local theater playhouse, and help promote your local musicians. Works just like the school board. City Councils use your tax dollars to fund public art and they vote on the artists that will represent the city. The NEA funds them with your tax dollars. (Remember "Piss Christ?"). Get involved so you can vote on it too and make your voice heard.

So when you find yourself staring at a work of art in a city museum and wondering what mental midget with a box of crayons and a glue gun created it... well someone had to buy it or donate it to the museum in order for it to be there, or had to have a voting membership to said museum in order to vote for which pieces they purchase during the year. Read Ayn Rand's "Romantic Manifesto" to see how communists have infiltrated art with the intention to redefine "beauty" into soul-sucking meaninglessness.

Over a decade ago, I let my membership to my city's museum of art lapse because I got tired of seeing mediocre art being elevated solely based on the artist's race. I recently realized that my disconnection won't make it stop.. . rather, I needed to get more involved and attend their soirees and vote on the funding. Walking away won't make them change their minds. Taking over their little club might.
