Darn it.
1776 is one of my favorite dvds. Even then they pushed the shame of slavery angle too hard although the Founders did find it a serious problem that would haunt people as the script said.
Another show: When two people on Merv Griffin’s old TV talk show suddenly told him on live TV there was going to be a remake of the Wizard of OZ but all black he hadn’t been prepared by his staff for it. He got half onto his feet and shouted “No. No. They can’t do that. Leave it alone. It’s a classic.”
Genuine emotion of outrage. Had to smooth it over in segment after the commercials.
