Even Jeff Bezos' son is hoping Amazon's new "The Lord of the Rings" production is up to snuff.
The billionaire Amazon founder told the audience at the show premiere that his son warned him not to mess up the prequel series that debuts on Prime Video this Friday, Variety reported.
"After Amazon got involved in this project, my son came up to me one day, he looked me in the eyes, very sincerely, and he said: 'Dad, please don't eff this up,'" Bezos said, according to Variety. "And he was right. We know that this world is important to so many people, we know it's a privilege to work inside this world and we know it's a big responsibility."
Bezos has a 22-year-old son with his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.

The inherent nature of the medium is corrupting and demoralizing.
LOTR is a Catholic book written for a secular audience. Without Catholicism, it could never have been written properly.
It’s why the books are a masterpiece, but nothing on film really is. Jackson’s LOTR came pretty close to how it could be done but I think he had a lot of scholastic help when writing his movies.
Secular minds cannot readily translate Catholic doctrine and rejecting Catholicism in favour of secularism is mostly why it is failing to translate properly.
Ah yes, beautiful Emma, screwed in the head with leftist narratives and with the morals of an allycat but beautiful indeed.
at least it was only a billion...
“HBO’s “House of the Dragon” is much better . . .”
Ultimately, it’s all a matter of personal taste, but I thought the first two episodes were basically ‘meh’ - I think they would’ve done better with a series that was basically an extended pub crawl with the Dinklage character.
Tolkien helped bring C.S. Lewis around to Christianity.
I've heard some people liking it. But not me. Apparently it's a hit or miss.
I think Jackson had a great appreciation of the toll WW1 took on LOTR. His production of “They Shall Not Grow Old” shows that. LOTR would not have been written without Tolkien’s experiences in that war.
Lewis darn near crossed the Tiber.
I never shed any tears in a theater until I saw that.
I’m obsessed with that film. Must have seen it a dozen times. Hard to imagine the voices we hear lived and fought in a war over 100 years ago.
Tolkien tried to get him to become Catholic, but Christian is still better than atheism.
Agreed think he was Anglican. Can’t get much closer.
dittos!
Young Cate Blanchett is way hotter.
I also like Evangeline Lilly in The Hobbit, and Liv Tyler in LotR.
There are those tht claim LOTR was written as a parable about a war between world communism and the damaged nations of western Europe.
“ Eff this up? If I had talked that way to my dad (at any age)..”
That was my first and only reaction. Didn’t matter what came after that.
Wonderful film out of UK on Tolkien ‘s early life and how it influenced his writings. It’s called Tolkien.
So how’s old Jeffy doing? Did he “eff” it up?
