My only memories of him were on the O’Reilly factor. Gutfeld said yesterday they were the two that did that hit with him, funny I don’t remember Gutfeld.
“You’re not going to be remembered. After a third or fourth generation, he said, you didn’t exist for all intents and purposes. And over the course of a thousand years or human history, there’s probably 500 people, maybe a thousand at the most. Whose names, whose existence are known and remembered, it’s true, isn’t it. Not to make you sad, to make the best of the time you have on this Earth with your family and friends, because that’s all it’s going to matter. “
Very well said.
A nice write up and eulogy by Mark.
I like him better in his FedEx cardinal hat. ROTFL!
Bernie was great. Very smart, kind, very funny. When he was amused at something he would really crack up. He was irreverent. He made grouchy imus laugh
He had a great voice for radio
So sorry he’s gone.
Always liked Bernie. Used to watch him daily on Imus in the morning (yes MSNBC at least until the Rutgers issue got Imus cancelled) as I got ready to head out for the day.
Bernie was a funny man and a great foil for Imus. It was Imus’s show but it would have been far less without Bernie. RIP.
I listened to Imus beginning in 1972-1973 and always listened when I could get his program right up until he retired. Until the mid-80s it was Imus and Charles McCord. Bernie joined Imus in the mid-80s and was a GREAT addition. Funny, politically incorrect, and he kept the show moving. He had that New York City attitude without the coarseness. RIP to Bernie and condolences to his family.
RIP this guy really made me LOL a number of times!
Oh dear, hate to see this. Bernie had great wit and was smart. Really smart. And quick. I used to watch Imus regularly when Bernie was on with Don. Good team back then. It was so long ago that we thought John McCain was cool to go on Imus show. Hahh! The things we learned.
Godspeed, Bernie...
I remember Bernard McGuirk’s Irish priest character on the Imus show. It was laugh out loud material. One after another. so sad to see him go.
