Two people have died and six others were wounded during a stabbing rampage in front of the Wynn Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, police said.
Police began receiving reports of a "series of stabbings" on Las Vegas Boulevard about 11:40 a.m., Las Vegas police Capt. Dori Koren said during an afternoon press conference.
While on scene, police quickly took a suspect into custody and began providing medical aid to victims, Koren said.
Two of the eight victims died. Three of the surviving victims were in critical condition, Koren said.
"The weapon we recovered was a large kitchen knife," he said. It was too early in the investigation to determine a motive, Koren said.
"The scene is under control," he said. "The suspect is in custody and everything appears safe for now."
Las Vegas police tweeted a news alert which said the report of the stabbing, shortly before noon, occurred “in front of a casino in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.”
(Details of suspect, age, race etc. have not been released).
Random insane attack? Psych drugs. Without a doubt.

Perhaps, but irrelevant. What should follow such an atrocity is a quick trial and a public hanging before the end of October!
Why not dead instead of taken into custody?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
The time is coming when your inference will be the norm, and it can’t happen too soon!
Yes, in case anyone wondered, the area is front of the casino is a gun-free zone.
Even what would normally be the public sidewalk.
You’ll get my kitchen knives when you pry them from my cold, dead oven mitt!
Perhaps I didn’t make my point very well, but I appreciated your original comment.
My comment was directed at those who do not.
Attorney with a $50,000 watch, $7,100 Paolo Scaffori shoes and a $12,000 suit: “Hey, and put me outta business? No way.”

You’ve referred here to one of the MAJOR weaknesses of this country’s criminal justice system. And it’s a primary reason that it takes DECADES for a convicted killer to be executed after a guilty verdict.
I think they try “common-sense” solutions like banning pointed knives before they try for an outright ban.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
For decades in many States there have been laws prohibiting concealed carry of knives over a certain length, usually three or four inches, and also switchblades. I could stand being corrected but I’m fairly sure that’s true.
So many young aspiring rapper types hanging out on the strip smoking marijuana.

What you’ve described is a high-profile example of what has happened in practically every medium to large city in the country. It’s the consequence of cowardice and criminality in governments everywhere. My guess is it will permanently ruin the entire country, AND SOON!
It can be something tiny, like a charm on a charm bracelet.

What the hell are you talking about?
I would prefer they use "dark skinned" or "light skinned" as opposed to assigning ethnicity....
And it happened down the street from Hell’s Kitchen, turrble
“GW Bush meme....
To All: try to hold back the tears.”
What about our anger? That POS stabbed us in the back.
You make excellent points.
Millions of innocent Hispanic males shouldn’t be suspects due to a casual line in the media or a statement from one witness.
Sadly, the illegals have ruined the reputations of normal people already living here.
I am against the withholding of suspects’ information except when the media can hurt white Trump supporters. That’s just as bad as the unfair characterizations.
This is from KCRA3 Report:
“Authorities said the suspect identified himself to police and they are working to determine his “true identity.” They described him as Hispanic and in his 30s, and said he does not appear to be a Las Vegas resident.”
“...For decades in many States there have been laws prohibiting concealed carry of knives over a certain length.”
And those laws are judiciously followed to the letter by the criminal element in society. The criminals welcome regulation of dangerous weapons or instruments of violence. They also want a safe and secure environment that won’t threaten their livelihood or personal safety. /s
Isn’t this a great country? Doubles as a UN refugee camp. Won’t be long before it won’t be safe to go outside your house. Sounds like Kurt needs to do a third “Escape” movie. “Escape from America”.
Yep, you got it exactly right!
I stayed at the Palazzo where the stabbing happens earlier this year. It was extremely sketchy at night, scores of drugged up homeless sleeping and the sidewalks by the CVS. Marijuana smell everywhere, but psychotic meth heads seemed to be the problem. I would never go back.
Can you please translate that sentence?
Thanks, Leni
We did go to Fremont street one night and it WAS fun! So that’s where the $12 steak and lobster tail deals went…we invited a semi-homeless halfway house guy to eat with us because he had a “Let’s go Brandon” hat on. 😀 he reminded us to pray before our meal. Fun times.
