There has been a power struggle ongoing in Ukraine for some time.
The President in 2014, Yanukovych fled Ukraine to Russia, The Ukrainian parliament voted to remove him, because he "had effectively resigned". Yes, it is clear the US, under the Obama regime, was involved.
How much Yanukovych was under the control of Russia is debated.
Yes, Ukraine is famously corrupt, but I doubt it is less corrupt than Russia.
From my limited contacts (I have a friend who travels to Ukraine often) it appears the people of Ukraine understand the government is corrupt, and wish to rectify the situation.
“The US (and probably some NATO allies) was involved in the coup in Ukraine in 2014 to put Zelensky in place as leader...”
If that were true, the US and NATO sure as hell went about it in a round-about way:
The “coup,” as you call it, was in 2014. Zelensky wasn’t even on the electoral radar then, and he wasn’t elected president until 2019, five years AFTER the “coup.” There were TWO Ukrainian presidents between the “coup” and Zelensky’s election in 2019. In fact, Zelensky was elected in REBUKE of the “coup.”
There aren’t and have never been us or non us supported bio weapons labs in Ukraine. They do not and have not had any bio weapons labs.
Putinist propaganda even stopped repeating that lie as it lost any semblance of reality and was debunked over and over again.
it’s been debunked by Russia itself — do you hear any more Russian propaganda about any “biolabs”?
Nope.
Have the Russians provided ANY proof over the past 7 months?
Nope.
Furthermore THINK — why would the USA need labs in a non-NATO country rather than in Guam or Guantano bay where it could be under US control?
Let’s pretend that you are the most powerful country in the world. You have many allies, and all the money in the world.
Let’s further pretend that you want to establish a lab to create biological weapons.
You can establish this lab anywhere.
You have vast, empty miles of space within your own borders; in Nevada, or Idaho, or Alaska, or God help you, North Dakota. In those places you would have complete control over access; you could arrest anyone who drove up to the gates and wouldn’t go away.
You could put the lab on an uninhabited lagoon in the middle of the Pacific. Or in Antarctica. No one would ever want to go there to see what you were doing.
But no, you decide to place your lab, oops, no, 30 bioweapon labs, in an unstable country who is already at war with your most important enemy, 100 kilometres from your enemy’s borders. A country already overrun with sympathizers and easy iPhone equipped spies.
And nobody in Ukraine has thought to use those weapons in March when they were being pushed back????
