Hurricanes have a footprint that is hundreds of times bigger than the footprint of a tornado.

For all of the potential destruction of a tornado, they are byproducts of a hurricane. During its life, hurricanes will typically spawn numerous tornados.

The power of a hurricane is awe inspiring. I have no desire to experience one first-hand. I just watch on TV.

Hurrices and tornadoes can have similar wind speeds.

The description is probably fairly accurate considering that Ian allegedly hit 155 mph. That is equivalent to an F2 tornado.
