I talked to a guy today who had been in a tornado up here in Indiana yrs ago, and is now down in SW Florida.
He said it was like an 8 hour tornado.

Hurricanes have a footprint that is hundreds of times bigger than the footprint of a tornado.
For all of the potential destruction of a tornado, they are byproducts of a hurricane. During its life, hurricanes will typically spawn numerous tornados.
The power of a hurricane is awe inspiring. I have no desire to experience one first-hand. I just watch on TV.
