So could a diesel 3/4 ton pickup, and it will run a lot longer, and haul more stuff..... so what is the advantage of an electric?
ESPECIALLY if the grid is down and it is not possible to recharge.

Would not want to depend on an EV to evacuate. Who in their right mind would drive an EV with 20,000 miles on it through six inches of water? A few cracks in the battery casing and the occupants will become crispy critters.
