Actually my wifes friend from Poland and her fiend from eastern Austria.
She says that wood stoves are sold out BUT, it is illegal to collect wood-even branches, from the forests.
All the wood sales places are sold out and prices have gone so high people can not afford it.
She is kind of a survivalists so tends to over do it a little. But she put me onto news articles that confirm.
Here is one thing she has said to me. You Americans caused this! I asked if that is the general consensus and she said in many areas it is the majority of the peoples opinions.
She said that it would be best to not go to Europe as an American at this time. You may not be safe in certain areas.
Just today I learned that theft in grocers is rising rapidly.
So..populists governments are being elected-like Italy, even in Sweden the conservatives have gained a huge foothold in government. The present German government will collapse and a populist government may take over.
Adn what did the USA do under this administration do? Made it way worse by blowing up that pipeline...that is the general consensus amongst nearly all European peoples.
So say my Italian cousins, one of whom is a Mayor of a large-ish city. Was there a month ago.
They are NOT happy, definitely not pro-Putin but are pro-energy, pro-food, and pro-personal security. Pretty consistent in the belief the US is the real ‘invisible hand’ behind their current woes.

Why would America’s strategy include blowing up the pipeline? Did you get an idea as to what Europeans would like to see happen in Ukraine? I’m not following the Ukraine situation closely.
