A Meridian, Idaho, resident recently called the police department to demand a cop hurry over and apprehend an illegal solicitor — someone who'd knocked on her door to peddle without a permit. As reported by Deputy David Gomez, a School Resource Officer in Idaho City, on his lively Facebook Page, the caller told the cops she was sure the peddler "did not have a solicitor's license."
And as it turns out, she was right.
Because the peddler was a girl of about age 8. She was selling homemade cookies.
The officer arriving on the scene, a newbie, managed to track down the entrepreneurial menace. As he later explained to Deputy Gomez, this wasn't too hard, as she had not gotten too far from the complainant's home. And she was particularly easy to find because she was with her mom and baby sister, who was in a stroller. Said stroller also contained the crumbly contraband in question. In fact, the suspect actually approached the officer and said, "'Mr. Policeman, I am selling home-baked cookies... so that I can afford piano lessons. Would you like to buy some?"
She added that her older sister was a really good pianist, and she wanted to take lessons to be just like her. But her mom thought she should have some skin in the game by helping to pay for the lessons. Hence, the pastry peddling.
At that point, Gomez writes, "Our new officer did what any reasonably seasoned police officer would do in that situation."
He bought all the rest of the cookies.

Nice!
Karen needs to get ready for Halloween retribution...
I know that town...good decent people. That woman is more likely a California transplant.
Who wants to bet it was a white woman karen?
I hope he put a couple in a bag and dropped them off at the wicked witch's house.
.
This licensing program comes from Limpdick Durban writing legislation for children to have a license to sell drinks. After all his years in the Congress, it is probably the only legislation Limpdick ever got passed. He is dumber than Demented Joe if that is possible.
There should be a law against stirring up trouble.
And the fine should increase dramatically for each offense. A Karen who regularly goes off on innocent people ought to be on the hook for $50,000 at some point. That might knock some sense into them.
Lots of good, decent people remain in California — conservatives like me. A large chunk of us who remember when this was a decently run Republican state are staying and fighting back against the madness & tyranny. Will take years, just as the ‘RATS did to us, but this country can’t survive with 40M+ of its citizens under Communist rule.
Undoubtedly. Friend living near Hailey has told me story after story about how rude and selfish the transplants are. She's even beginning to think about selling up and moving.
The Karen must have been a California transplant.
Feel good story of the day.
Wonder where she moved from?
Exactly, probably a CA transplant who wrecked the last place she lived.
No doubt, the woman who called the cops on this 8-year-old girl is a witch.
I pray for good, decent, conservative people who live behind the lines in Blue states...
And hope they will pray for me as well.
That was my first thought.
Well...it IS Idaho.
A young scofflaw like that came to my door selling homemade strawberry jam to pay his way to hockey camp. I was shocked that he would ignore the law and that his mother was with him allowing her son to engage in illegal activity.
I looked right at the kid and said, “the grandson of the guy across the street plays in the NHL and the lady next door’s grandson is a college hockey player. Here’s some money, give me a jar of jam and get off my porch before I call the police.”
The owners of the house have earned a reputation and likely the ire of the neighborhood kids.
I don't know if they have 'Hell Night' or 'Mischief Night' in Idaho there might be some eggs thrown at the house and flaming bags of dog crap left on the front steps. -if not worse
