I have to wonder if all the EV fanboys/girls have a chatroom where, when one of them finds an article critical of their toy cars, they all get together to try and defend them.
Oh yeah, everyone has $86,000+ to buy one. But, fear not, the US Government is going to forcibly take money from the US taxpayer and help out those that can afford to buy one of these things to the tune of $7500, plus billions more for charging stations the grid isn't set up for.

the last percents of charging are the slowest part by far.
It is common to only charge to 90%, for this reason and also to avoid premature aging (dendrites) for the battery.

I’m not a huge EV Fan. I’m kind of neutral, but come on 120volt hook up. Everyone with a brain knows that will take forever, that’s why people get special outlets installed to charge their vehicles at home.
But until they go 600miles range (like the Tesla Roadster supposedly does)...you can count me out. 600 miles is about how far you can drive in a day. Of course with autopilot I guess you could drive 24x7 if the battery would allow you. LOL.
But then you still have to plan your route to stop at hotels with chargers and pray they are available.

The guy must be an effing idiot. Only an idiot would attempt to charge on 120v.

Then cities will enforce “deli counter service” whereas you plug in car at home and “get in line” behind others in your area that plugged in first, to charge the battery.

The article mentions the Ford Lightning.
Long ago when I was young, we had a competitor in the heavy equipment business who nicknamed his line of equipment “lightning”.
Everyone else in the industry joked that it was well named because like lightning, it never struck twice in the same place.
I predict the Ford Lightning is well named for the same reason.
Being struck: one in ten million. But never struck again.

Of course it would take days to charge a large battery on 120v. Jesus who is surprised by this are fools.
The typical 12v car battery in your combustion engine cat will take 2-4 hours to
Charge with a 120v 20amp charger
Why would you think that a 120v current trying to charge
A large electric vehicle battery bank from empty to full wouldn’t take days?!?

What’s the problem? I hate going to the gas station so I put a full service gas station in my back yard, along with the car wash. At first the HOA was against it, but I told them I was saving the planet by reducing trips to fill up. Then the City got wind of the project, I think the backhoe and dump trucks in the neighborhood tipped them off... but the old saving the planet scam worked again!
Next I plan in a body shop in the backyard, can you say “custom paint jobs” boys and girls?

What's the big deal? Just stay in your pajamas for four days and have some chicken soup while your electric car charges up. What's the big deal?

The BIG MISTAKE made by many EV owners is actually driving them, when their main purpose is to stay put, at home, and be used for Virtue Signalling.
Hopefully this article got that point across.
