Have you ever heard of “Thermal” stitches? I have some time back and forgotten all about it.

If you are looking for a very thick stitch, great for coasters, potholders, baskets, where you need a ‘double’ thickness, then this is the stitch. It’s actually easy - great video link in the instructions.

This would be a great pattern for scraps (I have lots of cotton thread scrap balls) & would make nice, small gifts. Some folks make washcloths in crochet/knit ... a coaster or a potholder would likely be just as welcome, if not more so.

Handy! Thanks! Will check out that stitch.

I had a pattern that made a double-thickness hot pad; I’ll have to see if I can find that again.
