Lyman direction
-The Ukrainian Army liberated Drobysheve. Russian troops defending the town retreated to Lyman.
-Ukrainian forces liberated Yampil and are pushing towards Lyman and Zarichne through the forest area.
-Fighting is reported in the vicinity of Terny and Stavky.
-The only exit route from Lyman is within the firing range of UA forces. Russian troops defending Lyman are de-facto surrounded.
-The Ukrainian Army is also advancing north, but the movement is obscured by the fog of war and actual well maintained silence regime by Ukrainian soldiers.

The “army” is a bunch of 500-1000 rebels and 13th BARS reserve, even though supported by air and artillery.
Ukies concentrated like 40,000 as we speak to claim this small town and fail to dislonge this bunch for 3 weeks.
How queer is it?
It is going to be an unimaginable embarrassment if the Russians win in the end.
You can bet on media to spin other way though.
The summary of the 219th day on Siverskyi Donets Front, as of 22:00 – 30th September 2022 (Kyiv time).
Due to the ongoing Ukrainian offensive in Donetsk Oblast, we’re releasing an extra summary solely focused on the Siverskyi Donets Front. The classic summaries remain bi-daily.

Russia repatriated 4 provinces yesterday. I don’t think they care that much about Lyman at the moment.
Ukranians are fighting for their lives and their country and Russia’s armies are fighting because a madman is forcing them to. Gee, which side is more motivated I wonder?
Russia will continue to repatriate sections of the Ukraine until the MSM pro Ukranian farce stops and leaders stop pretending to send money to the Ukraine.
Biden et. al. pretend to send money to the Ukraine but I don’t believe the dollars ever leave the continental US. Notice we have an influx of Ukrainian cheerleaders every time Biden promises ‘the Ukraine’ more money? Our deep state is slurping up whatever taxpayer funds are dropped in the trough.

Force of roughly 500 men defending Lyman fighting against roughly 12:1 odds....who have been holding out against those 12:1 odds for days.
Lyman has one unique oddity...it’s where the Russian rail-line dumps off cargo for the front, and the ‘hub’ disperses ammo and supplies to the frontline by truck. If Lyman is taken and the logistics situation is terminated there....then the Russians would have to recreate a new logistics hub (probably 50 to 100 miles further south, and in a hurry).
If you were a Russian Conscript at the front and being told that food and ammo for two weeks might be a problem...then your confidence is going to be shaken.
Lyman is of importance to who?
Indications are, Lyman not as important as some, including you, are letting on or the Russians would not have just placed a garrison of roughly 500 there to garrison/hold Lyman, you think?
Thanks for the post!
Have been tracking this all along, and based on ground targeting reports (both sides), as well as POC’s on the ground, and known griund tac dynamics, this report is not only correct, but many of the orc fighters are either dead, or fleeing East over the past few weeks. These were/are known elements of the Russian 8th and 10th army, and “Wagner mercs”.
Russian 8th and 10th army regulars, and Wagner group merc’s, have for weeks been getting smashed (very high death counts), have regrouped/consolidated several times, cannot hold “center defensive” positions, or form meaningful “tac flanks”, and have been trying to flee, but were ordered and waiting for the non-regular/non-trained cannon fodder arrivals from RU and it’s subordinate CIS to infill, so some of the remaining surviving regulars could escape East — так что выжившая армия может попытаться сбежать на восток.
Many of the locals who were forced to fight either fled, were dead months ago, or were sent South.
Based on Russian fire reports and poc’s, Ukraine has been predominately fighting Russian regulars on these specific enclave lines (which were a month ago secondary defensive lines, or even regional “aor HQ’s, supply and feeders”).
Russian ground officers have known all along, once these highly defended enclaves and LOC’s fall, UA will more quickly sweep another 15km to 40km both to the North and East (depending on tac set ups with other units), which is precisely why Russian 8th and 10th couldn’t just flee to the East and regroup. RU has been really beat, and lost a lot here. Many of their best trained are dead, and this without many of the op tools we would have used.
UA is really putting up a fight.
As well, even in these area’s, as UA retakes RUbe occupier territory, they are finding many dead and tortured civilian locals. Much more (including from comhined EU and Asain international forensic teams) will come out on this going forward.
But UA knows well Russia is not done, and that this fight may well include Russian nukes, will get significantly worse, and there is no quitting.
🇺🇸🇺🇦🎚
You are correct.
Um…I would venture to guess that Severodonetsk, Donetsk, and other cities have railway stations with more traffic than Liman (pop. 20,000 before war, essentially deserted now).
The Kharkiv counter attack was really loss and Russia would turn it around in a counter-counter attack, just wait. Reaching Oskil was really a loss. Ukrainian armed forces recovering 5% of the territory Russia spent 7 months occupying was not worth mentioning (except by me).
Taking back Lyman is no big deal when it was predictable as clockwork all week long. Lyman opens the way to Lysachansk, Severodonetsk, and cutting off the rail lines north of Luhansk. Does that sound important?
P.S.
Ukraine estimates the numbers of Russians encircled is between 2.5 to 5.5 thousand, including the 752nd regiment. During the First Battle of Grozny in 1994, the 752 was encircled and had heavy losses. It will not be long before we find out how many are there.
Yes, just as your deny Russian MOD mentions, don’t mind me if I don’t buy into anything being vomited by the Ukrainians, cause they have nearly always been wrong.
500+/- militia holding off 12:1 in favor of Ukrainian odds, if not more - speaks volumes about that NATO trained Ukrainian forces....
Funny how the Putinist mental ward clings to that sham annexation as their great hope for “Greater Russia.” Aside from Putin’s main squeeze, Belarus dictator Lukashenko, it has absolutely no standing anywhere in the world and most important, the Ukrainians are completely undaunted and are continuing to take the fight to the orcs.
Spot on.. great comment.
Wasnt it about oh three weeks ago that “Bakahmut is surronded”
Anyhoo, how can this situation in Lyman be true?
The war was all but over, the Ukranian Army was trapped in boo coo cauldrons and encirclements and was going to be crushed if I remember the Putard correctly.....
“500+/- militia holding off 12:1 in favor of Ukrainian odds,”
Nah, to use an excuse form Putards, Ukraine is taking its time and grinding the Russians down.
And holding off them vaunted NATO trained Ukrainians, for days........
But if you read the comments in this thread, we have the end of days and Stalingrad in this battle for ..... NOTHING.....when your dwindling forces are better served down in Bahkmut, the lynchpin of your defensive lines in the south...............!
All sorts of things tend to happen at wars.
