The ten tribes of Israel essentially vanished from their former Kingdom of Israel by circa 721 BC. They had been a powerful kingdom in the Eastern Mediterranean region for centuries prior to that time. They had been allied to the city-states of Tyre, Sidon, etc. in what historians now call the Phoenician Empire. Their alliance dominated the ancient world’s maritime trade routes and, from the time of King David onward, became a powerful military power on land as well. They were exceedingly blessed by God during the time of Kings David and Solomon, but a long succession of sinful kings led to a steady decline in the strength and influence of the kingdom of Israel. During an approximately 20 year span between 740-720 B.C., the ten tribes of Israel went into foreign exile in several waves. At the beginning of this period, the Assyrians took captive the tribe of Naphtali and the Gileadite tribes of Gad, Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh (II Kings 15:29). By circa 721 B.C., all of the ten tribes of Israel who had formed the northern kingdom of Israel had been removed from their lands (II Kings 17:18). While the house of Judah remained in the Promised Land for a time, many have puzzled over the fate and future of the ten tribes of Israel. Where did they go? While the Bible foretold that the tribes of Israel would scatter, literally, to all four directions (Genesis 28:14), the remainder of this article is devoted to connecting many of the exiled tribes of Israel to one largely ignored confederation of tribes which emerged afterward in the region of South Russia: the Scythians.
I only know for certain that the history of man that we think happened, is probably not the truth or, at least, the whole truth.
Interesting.
Coincidentally, I just watched a video about the Scythians this afternoon.
According to it, the Scythians tended to have red hair and blue eyes. The also spoke a Indo-Iranian language. I would find it unlikely that the lost tribes of Israel would change their language family from Semitic to Indo-Iranian.
Or their genetics to produce red hair & blue eyes!
King David may have had red hair.

Yes. It would be very easy now to do genetic tests on Scythian remains to confirm relationship, no speculation needed.
It seems one group of Scythians were the Medes who decided to conquer Babylon and settle down from the nomadic life.
There is a mysterious people known as the “sea people” known by all historians and no one still knows who they were. But they rampaged through the entire eastern Mediterranean and single-handedly ended the bronze age. No one knows where they came from or who they were.
I have always thought personally they were the tribes of Israel, and the label “sea peoples” was a reference to them crossing the red sea out of Egypt and not so much about them being sailors.
But that’s just me
I am an ex Fundamental Evangelical Christian who 30 years ago embarked on a journey seeking TRUTH in the church. By profession I was a trained investigator and was up for the challenge before me. God showed me Truths, all based on Scripture, that are not taught in the church.
This article by Stephen Collins is just a tiny portion of a much bigger picture that begins in Genesis and ends in Revelation. It is the Gospel Jesus and his disciples preached. They didn’t preach the gospel of the death burial and resurrection of Jesus...no. They preached the Gospel that was preached to Abraham. It’s exciting, it’s Amazing, it will deepen your Faith and release you to worship in Spirit and Truth. Collins touched on just a smidgen. If you want to know more, I strongly recommend a good starting point is a You Tube video “Identity Crisis” taught by Jim Staley, Passion of Truth Ministry. I also teach two online Bible Studies on the Restoration of the Kingdom of Israel which is bases on the Gospel that Jesus preached, so if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them.
This could be true; if we ignore all the historical, genetic, archeological and linguistic evidence. Little things.
That will be one of the benefits of eternity.
You’ll be able to trace your real history, all the way back to Noah without anything being hidden. The good. The bad. The ugly.
I've read that what the Israelites called "red hair" was most likely chestnut brown.
However, Leah might have had gray or blue-gray eyes. The Bible says she had "weak eyes," which some interpret to mean light colored. That was apparently considered unattractive in her culture. Her sister Rachel, the pretty one, had dark eyes.
When the opening sentence contains an egregious error, the remainder of the piece is likely wrong.
There were TWELVE tribes
He means the ten lost tribes of Israel.

1 Corinthians
15:1 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
15:2 - By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
15:3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1Co 15:5 - And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
1Co 15:6 - After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
1Co 15:7 - After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
1Co 15:8 - And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
1Co 15:9 - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
1Co 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
1Co 15:11 - Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
(cf. 1Th 4:13–18 )
1Co 15:12 - Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1Co 15:13 - But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
1Co 15:14 - And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain
1Co 15:15 - Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
1Co 15:16 - For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 - And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1Co 15:18 - Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
1Co 15:19 - If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
///
And let me add:
Jas 3:1 - My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
.
1Co 15:17 - And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

The Eurasian steppe was well populated by the beinning of the first millennia BC.
“Or their genetics to produce red hair & blue eyes!”
I read an historical novel about Jews or a Jewish family that the Jewish author traced from the fall of Jerusalem to modern times. He consistently described the Jews in 70 AD as being blonde or red heads, with blue/green eyes.
