Yes. I drove some of those old cars when they were newer, including Mustangs. The worst floater at high speed that I remember was a ‘66 Ford Galaxie with a 352 four-barrel. The lifters would also float, causing it to misfire. Won’t say how fast it was going, but the Mustang wouldn’t go near that fast. ;)

A Tesla Model S would eat its lunch.

After which the Tesla would catch fire so you could flame broil your lunch.

Bingo! I had that exact car in highschool and I can tell you that somewhere between 90 and 100 mph that car got SCARY light. A good thing about the model was the front seat slid back clear to the rear bench giving immense room in the front seat for um drive-in activities. Steering wheel was completely out of the way.

How long will it be before some hot rodder with a dead Tesla installs a Chevy 350?

My dad bought my mom a ‘69 Firebird 400. It was a beautiful car but got very flighty at speeds above 90. My mom was a lead-foot and that car was genuinely scary!

Take a look at the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV owners manual.

Don’t crash it or you’ll burn for sure.

“Take a look at the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV owners manual.”

It says 1968. Bullitt for those that don’t know.

TeslaCam Captures Footage Of Gas Cars Catching Fire While Driving

Gas car fires are pretty common, though they don’t really get media coverage since they happen all over the world every day. This is not to say that most gas cars aren’t safe. Teslas and other EVs catch fire, too. However, the chances of an EV catching fire are exponentially lower than that of a gas car.

289 Mustang was faster.

“I think most know…”

I don’t think most know. I had a 2008 Bullitt and I was always being asked “What is a Bullitt?”

Your opinion is of no concern to me.

It must be exhausting for you to have to scan these threads looking for any little slight against electric vehicles, and then regurgitate useless statistics, or make snide comments in an attempt to defend the indefensible. Do you get paid by the post, or does the Ministry of E.V. Propaganda have you on salary?

My responses to you had nothing to do with EV’s.

“How long will it be before some hot rodder with a dead Tesla installs a Chevy 350?”

With its horsepower and torque advantage over the Dodge, plus an all-important traction advantage, the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid is quicker than not just the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, but literally every other car we’ve tested. The Model S Plaid sprints to 60 mph in 2.07 seconds and on through the quarter mile in 9.34 seconds at 152.2 mph.
