Yes. The government seems to sense that they have made a lot of bad decisions:

They are not polling well — their policies are unpopular with the people.
The economy is crashing — their policies are destroying life savings.
Cities are being abandoned — their policies are causing crime to sky rocket and law-abiding citizens feel abandoned.
Illegal immigration is out of control — their policies have erased the border.

And so, in their hour of desperation, they will make one more decision — they will start a war. Probably with a nuclear power that has been bluntly stating that they will use nukes if attacked.

Let's see if this decision is better than those other decisions.

In their minds, yes. They'll have the Mockingbirds out touting "rally 'round the flag", while simultaneously villifying half the population as a danger to "our democracy"tm, touting the trampling of civil liberties as essential to preserving "our democracy"tm
