And the real kicker is that dogs are not "wolves". They both branched off of a common ancestor a very long time ago and went their evolutionary ways, to whit:

Years ago, I went to the pound to look at what was available. It was the usual mix of dogs, all up against the cage door, dancing and yelping snd wanting attention. One pen had a sign...” Not for Adoption” ...and a 7/8ths or better wolf hybrid. It was laying at the back of the pen, eyes locked on mine, just daring anyone to open the door so it could bolt.
