I've done that....then...thanks to Jacque Pepin....I put the heavy cream in the blender...and voila...a few seconds and it was butter.

He had a show where his grand daughter was shaking a jar to make butter.

There's a video of him making it in the blender.

Prices are RIDICULOUS!

Right now in WISCONSIN, where the cows outnumber the people, a gallon will set you back $3.56 (2% or whole milk for the babies) and a pound of butter is up to $4.48, but if you buy the two-pack, it’s $4.42, each.

I guess we have Brandon to thank for that 6-cent, ‘savings.’

I freeze it, too. I freeze just about everything including my chicken French.

Here's one hint...freeze lemons...I slice and/or quarter them. Nice to say...I need a lemon...nope..I have some in the freezer.

Don’t get caught with your geezer in the freezer!

The Social Security people frown on you still collecting those checks after your loved one has passed away. ;)

A shortage of butter here in the USA. How eff’d up is that? Might be a golden opportunity for the Amish and small family Dairy farms.

We have a very popular (with good reason) gas station/convenience store in Wisconsin (and a few other states to the West) called Kwik Trip.

If you have something similar, see what they have for butter or Half & Half. You might get lucky!

I missed the butter sale that they had a few weeks back. Still kicking myself over that!

I am doing as much as I can to be in compliance with the surgeon’s instructions.

Every pound off and strength built, the less I should be a guest at the hospital.

Paleo has made me bit more creative as for meals.

After repair and cleared, what I really want is a fried filet of flounder, deviled crab, hush puppies, fries and tartar sauce one time.

Or, for those not quite as vigorous, make whipped cream with a hand mixer, adding a little salt instead of sugar. Just keep whipping it and it will break down in just a few more minutes into curds and whey. Squeeze any remaining liquid out and voila there’s your butter. Give the whey to anyone who can stomach the swill that is fat free milk

I had been given to understand there was quite a bit of butter (and cheese) in cold storage in limestone caves near Kansas City, that the USDA had purchased as part of dairy price supports.

Is that not the case?
