Beginning in August, the Democrats’ fortunes began to turn more positive as fallout from the Dobbs decision generated anger among Democratic women. That anger is being translated into political enthusiasm as 13% of Democrats now say that abortion is the most important issue facing Americans.
This would indicate an uphill battle for pro-life Republican candidates in blue states. But with only 4% of Republicans believing abortion is the most important issue, abortion would appear to be a nonissue in most of the rest of the country. No matter what Democratic boosters are saying, the abortion issue is not a game changer. It may, however, keep the GOP victory margin down as some blue state Democratic House members are likely to survive as a result of increased turnout of abortion-supporting women.
Seventy-four percent say the economy is in bad shape, up from 58% in the spring after Biden took office. The GOP leads the Democrats by 16 points in trust to handle the economy overall and by 19 points in trust to handle inflation. Equally important, 84% call the economy a top issue in their vote for Congress and 76% say the same about inflation. Many fewer, 62%, call abortion a top issue.
Other issues also differentiate the parties. In addition to the economy, the Republicans can be expected to focus on crime in the campaigns’ closing weeks; they lead by 14 points in trust to handle it, and it’s highly important to 69%.
Democrats, in return, hold a wide 23-point advantage in trust to handle climate change, though it’s highly important to far fewer, 50%.
Abortion is important to far fewer voters. No matter how much energy and anger Democratic women say they have, we can all vote only once — ideally.

‘The brand is so toxic’: Dems fear extinction in rural US

SMETHPORT, Pa. (AP) — Some Democrats in rural Pennsylvania are afraid to tell you they’re Democrats.
The party’s brand is so toxic in the small towns 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh that some liberals have removed bumper stickers and yard signs and refuse to acknowledge publicly their party affiliation. These Democrats are used to being outnumbered by the local Republican majority, but as their numbers continue to dwindle, those who remain are feeling increasingly isolated and unwelcome in their own communities.
“The hatred for Democrats is just unbelievable,” said Tim Holohan, an accountant based in rural McKean County who recently encouraged his daughter to get rid of a pro-Joe Biden bumper sticker. “I feel like we’re on the run.”
The climate across rural Pennsylvania is symptomatic of a larger political problem threatening the Democratic Party heading into the November elections. Beyond losing votes in virtually every election since 2008, Democrats have been effectively ostracized from the overwhelmingly white parts of rural America, leaving party leaders with few options to reverse a cultural trend that is redefining the political landscape.

Every democrat running for election is trying to focus on these issues:
1. Orange Man Bad.
2. Abortion Good.
3. Orange Man Really Bad.
4. Did we mention Orange Man Bad?
I saw a Biden Harris sticker on a nice car the other day. Who would wanna run around with a sticker proclaiming you are a total moron? I guess only a complete moron. Similar one would be:
This car is powered by a complete idiot
60 House seats.
5 in Senate.
4 senate seats. The 5th one would most likely be Colorado or Washington State. 4 + 1 would be cream pants time.
Anyone who votes democrat is a Biden they like the way things are crashing.
Of course it will. Things are getting worse and it’s the only thing folks really care about.
May it be so, FRiend.
I still stop in my tracks with sticker shock in the supermarket aisles.
Staple basic necessities like Cheetos are $5.89 to $6.79 and you can see the bags are smaller. Seriously, most eggs and yogurt and other items are noticeably up. Regular Premium saltines and Ritz around $4.89 or $5.29. Many examples that I think even the dull witted “independents” and Dems will notice and dislike intensely.
Also, at least where I am, people are leaving racks of eggs and other items in the display case as they decide not to buy them. Egg cartons were nicely in good supply. Same with $6.99 to $7.50 ice cream.
Who would think we’d have to pay $1.59 for a simple small Snickers candy bar at the checkout area rack?
From here on out, the economy is only going to get worse. We are in a global recession that may turn into a depression. Biden is the new Herbert Hoover.
This time of year I always enjoy a Dutch Apron Pumpkin Roll or two. They used to be $7.99. They are now $9.99. I won’t be buying too many of them.
Sounds good.
We may have to revive the WWII S.O.S. with white bread topped with corn starch with chipped dried beef. Yum.
Heard on Ban On that Bidet and son are selling Texas oil leases to Chynah so they can use it we can just ... suck wind, is it? Infuriating.
Cute.
