“Earthquakes like this are very rare. They happen maybe every 5,000 to 10,000 years, so don’t lose any sleep over it,” he said.
That’s nothing compared to the devastation unleashed by Newsom and Biden. And maybe Putin.
The “big one” is a myth that is repeated over and over
Meanwhile all the biggest quakes are usually in Latin America, or Alaska or Asia, and even then most the time in the ocean and not on land
Newsom.
I hope he’s standing right over this fault when it opens up and swallows him into the bowels of the Earth.
“Could.” All you need to know.
RE:Fault along L.A., O.C. coast could unleash huge earthquake on scale of San Andreas, study shows
Sooo.
Maybe it will and maybe it will not.
Now THAT is heavy news.
so when was the last one?
Yes. That means you need to plan for it.
The San Andres is like a 400 mile long crack the whip, and will probably launch homes 20 feet in the air at the southern end. No joke. I was not far from a quake that caused cars and trucks to bounce up and down completely off the ground in parking lots.

Not quite long ago to be a “myth” yet.
Here we go again. For the fortieth time I’m my long memory.
Almost 20 years ago now I was present at a briefing given to public officials in San Bernardino and Riverside regarding the expected effect of a major San Andreas quake upon the Inland Empire. Movement along the fault will be about ten feet up and twenty feet north. Every road, railroad, and utility will be severed.
That’s in addition to the damage done to homes, businesses, freeway, etc. It’ll be a mess, but the older I get the less likely it seems it will be that it will happen in my lifetime.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been another earthquake equal to the one that was in San Francisco a couple years ago. Well I guess 20 years ago now. Are you saying we’re not gonna have another one like that for 5000 years?
They happen maybe every 5,000 to 10,000 years,
Has it been 5 to 10 thousand years?
Hope it does not interrupt the world series...
GIANT METEOR/HUGE EARTHQUAKE 2024!
I hate earthquakes. I survived the Northridge quake and never want to go through one again. The thought of not knowing when one will hit freaks me out. But, I’ve left LA and when I lived there I kinda forgot about them. Except at night.
Right?! I’ve been hearing about this for 4 decades
