US District Judge Ronnie Abrams rejected Cooper’s claim on Wednesday that she was defamed when ex-employer Franklin Templeton, a holding company, axed her one day after the viral altercation in Central Park.
Cooper claimed that Franklin Templeton and its chief executive Jenny Johnson perpetuated her image as a “privileged white female ‘Karen’” by making public statements about firing her after conducting an investigation into the incident.
In May 2020, Cooper went viral after video showed her yelling at birder Christian Cooper and calling the police to claim an “African American man” was “threatening” her while she was walking her dog in Central Park.

“She didn’t really do anything wrong. She took steps to defend herself while alone in Central Park, being confronted by an unknown black male.”
No. She had her dog off leash in an area of the park where that is against the rules. The man asked her to put the leash on. Instead she called the police and pulled the race card. She’s just another entitled dog owner - and a racist one to boot.
Especially, a woman, alone, in a secluded area.
Report them, if you wish.
According to his own statement, he threatened to take the dog and did try to entice it away from the woman.
She gave a description of him.
How is that pulling the race card?
She should have been ticketed for a dog off leash but her employer has no right to fire her for her accurate description of a perp “hanging out “ in the bushes. Probably using drugs or stalking possible victims for robbery.
The ‘Bird Watcher’ did make a threatening comment regarding her dog, which has also been completely ignored.
“Not real sure why this Karen deserved to be fired.”
She worked for Franklin Templeton which is an investment bank that requires honesty of their employees. She proved herself a liar and in doing so she lost her job.
Now it would be nice to see law enforcement start firing every liar who has a badge.
They both deserve to live in the stench of the rotten NYC apple.
