The incredible ignorance displayed by these representatives is mind boggling. It’s embarrassing that the larger of the to legislative branches of the government of the most powerful nation in the world has such total retards in it. But because they were elected by the majority of voters in their district, that indicates that the majority of their voters are abysmally ignorant and dumb as a box of rocks too.

I don’t disagree with your assertion but I think they get elected largely because the Democrat Party encourages single issue voting. Don’t like Trump: vote for us. I’m a Muslim: vote for me. Fear climate change: vote Democrat. Feel sorry for immigrants: vote for us. Want legal abortion: vote for Democrats. These voters, sliced and diced among the issues, constitute a majority enough to elect politicians who will vote for their favorite issue but also bring a lot of baggage on other issues with them.
