Bill and Hillary Clinton were Ivy League lawyers. For some positions in government and business, the Ivy League pedigree is meaningless at best.
Personally, I work in a STEM field where I wouldn't even consider hiring an Ivy Leaguer. In my particular field, I have found them to be borderline useless. The best employees I had were the ones who paid their way through college, took a long time to complete their degrees because they worked their way through school, and graduated in their mid-20s.

And counter-productive!
They are not particularly any more knowledgeable, but they do come with loads of free uninformed arrogance!
It states right in Desantis bio that he “worked his way through Yale”.
The problem with many of Ivy League graduates is they got into Yale, Harvard, etc because dad went there or some other rich grandfather/uncle called up the Chancellor of the University and made a donation to the endowment to get their child in.
This is how GW Bush most likely got into Yale. Dad went there. His grandfather probably did too. The Bush’s were a rich family from Greenwich, CT before HW moved to Houston.
My point is Desantis got into Yale because he was a great athlete and he is also very intelligent. FYI, my company likes to hire former college/high school athletes because they tend to be VERY competitive people. They tend to be over achievers.
Keep in mind that people like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Zuckerburg all eventually attended/graduated from Ivy League schools. All of these three started at public high schools. Although, Zuck transferred into Philips Exeter Academy half way through high school.
