Yeah no sh!t, but what good is the grid without the generating capacity?
According to the BTS (https://www.bts.gov/content/us-passenger-miles) in 2019 the US logged 3.77 Trillion light vehicle miles. If one quarter of those miles were to be from EVs, at 27kWHr/100 mi that would require a continuous source of over 29,000 MW of power.
A decent sized nuke unit is 1000 MW.
