Dormant black holes? They are just out there sleeping?

Makes me think of the French song, "SMBH, dormez-vous?"

Or is it "Frere Jacques, dormez-vous?"

I’d just figured that a dormant black hole might be so simply because it has already eaten everything within its gravitational reach. (Which is kinda creepy/scary to think of now that I said that out loud).

Dormant because they have consumed everything in their gravity well, nothing left to make any sign of their presence.

Kind of like an Antlion trap, but more massive..................
