I disagree with this firing.
I hate homosexuality and think it is sick, and I still disagree with firing people for engaging in legal activity outside their workplace. He was stupid to put it on social media but how many people would really find out he is gay?
As long as he performs his job well, he should not have been fired. Now, if he pushed homosexuality during his work performance, that is something else completely different and a reason to fire him. The audience tuned in for the weather should not be subjected to that. As long as he completely separates the two, he should not have been fired IMHO.
Yeah right. Forget about the sensibilities of the viewing public. That's like saying that it would be okay for an attractive female news anchor to be a porn star on the side as long as she reads the news okay. "News" to some people is still about credibility.
