DESCRIPTION Black Feast is a culinary event celebrating Black artists and writers through food. At our table, guests participate in an experience that weaves together food and art, where Salimatu works with Black artists to create a multi-course, vegan, gluten-free meal based off of the artist’s work.
In Black Imagerial, movement artists Intisar Abioto and Akela Jaffi present a collectively held offering honoring the legacies of Black movers, dancers, and choreographers in Portland. With eight Black dancers and movement artists moving with the land, Black Imagerial recognizes Black movement as embodied image-making and visionary practice.
This meal is created as a celebration, a dance, and an offering. This meal is created for you.

Beautiful, clean, low crime rate, had a great job, loved every day of being there.
It is truly tragic what has happened to that town.
However, even in the 1990s, Portland was self-consciously anti-racist.
Downtown was like 95% white and Asian, and 5% Black and Hispanic. Even the Downtown homeless kids were 98% white.
However, our Police Chief was Black, our School Superintendent was Black, and the conductor of the Portland Orchestra was Black!

That is incorrect- the PSO you mention is in Maine, not Oregon. Please double check. The orchestra you mention while you were in Portland, Oregon is called Oregon Symphony, and it had a black conductor named James DePreist (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_DePreist) in the 1990s when you lived there.

That is the most racist leftist filth I've heard of for a long time. The warped liberal thought that Black individuals are so unfortunate that they need liberal handouts. Can these Portlandians not understand that a man wants to stand on his own noble abilities instead of suffering condescending posturing that tags him is an inferior victim.

Ironically, while I was living in Portland, OR, a good friend from a previous job was living in Portland, ME.
Our email correspondence, and our emails to mutual friends, were (literally) in a state of constant confusion as to which Portland was being talked about!

I certainly wouldn’t go to an event where white folks were and black folks were required to pay. I certainly wouldn’t attend this event.
