Bellbottoms have also been around since WWII in the navy, but their fashion came and went in the hippie era of the 60’s-70’s.
Tattoos will be out of fashion soon enough.

Tattoos on the other hand just keeps switching which subculture is into them. That’s why they’re permanent. Sometimes it’s this subculture, sometimes that other one, sometimes pop culture.
Tattoos have been around longer than rock and roll. Which many stupid people were sure wasn’t gonna survive the 50s.
Simply put, you’re wrong. Tattoos will outlive you, and me, and all the people who have them. They’ll move out of pop culture soon, but some other subculture will adopt them.
