A man murdered the store clerk in the Chevron convenience store at Cliff Gookin and South Thomas St. in Tupelo Sunday morning. A spokesman for the Tupelo Police department said the clerk was shot in the head during a holdup attempt. The incident occurred about 9:30 a.m.
The shooting victim was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Tupelo Police Chief John Quarka said Chris Copeland, age 26, was arrested by Tupelo officers about four hours later at a Moore Avenue address.
It is not yet clear what charges Copeland will face at his arraignment.

Interesting the article failed to say how they ID this guy. He was on video for nearly 2 minutes and I could still not recognize this guy in line up. Not sure how a door cam would have been any better. Exterior cameras might have ID’d the suspect vehicle, which might have led to his apprehension. I dunno.
I guess the Social Worker didn’t make it there on time.
Corporations tell their employees that too. Just give them what they want. Like the 7-11 greedy mart corporation, as their people get blow away rather frequently.
Try to imagine working the night shift at some greedy mart and you’re prohibited from defending yourself.
I noted the suspect appeared to only have one glove on. Maybe they lifted some prints as well.
The videos we see daily on Twitter of violence and mayhem are perpetrated almost entirely by one demographic, and this demographic has lived in America for generations.

If I were forced to live in East LA or South Central, I’d go with East LA without hesitation.
I'd rather not but if the choice were between living in a neighborhood filled with Salvadorans, a neighborhood filled with Muslims, or a neighborhood filled with blacks, I know which neighborhood I'd feel least safe in.
You don't see videos on social media of Muslims and Mexicans committing violence and mayhem on a daily basis. Just blacks.

There is something very broken with black America today and the country needs to have a serious discussion about this.
Every day, there's a different video on Twitter of black people behaving horribly, whether they're randomly assaulting and murdering people, looting stores, trashing restaurants, beating up kids in school, you name it.
It's not happening elsewhere, even among Native American and Hispanic demographics who also suffer in poverty. These videos are almost exclusively blacks.
This horrific video popped up in my Twitter feed yesterday. And then it was quickly deleted. It soon popped up elsewhere on Twitter and again was quickly deleted. But now it's snowballed and Twitter can't remove it fast enough.
And tomorrow it'll be another video. They can't hide this anymore and the "you're racist!" card is all played out.
Talk about a Mandela Effect! My head hurts...
The sad thing to consider is that working a convenience store in Tupelo, there's a good chance the clerk had a gun and maybe he thought he couldn't get to it in time and didn't want to take the risk.
But, yes, always assume the thug with the gun is going to kill you no matter how much you comply.
