Trump openly embraces, amplifies QAnon conspiracy theories
AP News ^ | 16 September 2022 | DAVID KLEPPER and ALI SWENSON

After winking at QAnon for years, Donald Trump is overtly embracing the baseless conspiracy theory, even as the number of frightening real-world events linked to it grows.

On Tuesday, using his Truth Social platform, the Republican former president reposted an image of himself wearing a Q lapel pin overlaid with the words “The Storm is Coming.” In QAnon lore, the “storm” refers to Trump’s final victory, when supposedly he will regain power and his opponents will be tried, and potentially executed, on live television.

As Trump contemplates another run for the presidency and has become increasingly assertive in the Republican primary process during the midterm elections, his actions show that far from distancing himself from the political fringe, he is welcoming it.

He’s published dozens of recent Q-related posts, in contrast to 2020, when he claimed that while he didn’t know much about QAnon, he couldn’t disprove its conspiracy theory.

Aw, thank you most kindly (blush). Such things won’t matter much in heavily Republican districts and states, so-called “safe seats”, but these things can make a difference when it comes to hotly contested seats. You know how the analysts go on about “the swing vote” and “swing states”. The votes of fickle Independents and wishy-washy Republicans and Democrats can be a deciding factor in some races.

If some Democrats get a little more fired up to go vote for their candidate, even if it’s just about some side issue that that is more emotional than substantive, and some Republicans who are more centrist are less fired up, well ...

It’s sad how polarized our country has become. And our polarizing media have become more polarized themselves. The Dems are all not all far left kooks like AOC. Republicans aren’t all far right. There are far more centrists in both parties than it appears from reading and watching our media. And, thanks to those blasted algorithms, than it appears from surfing the internet or looking at social media. We end up in little bubbles that way, too. There is a silent (and silenced) majority. We ignore it at our peril.

On the Republican side, lots are absolutely no fans of Liz Cheney, but neither are all huge fans of Margery Taylor Greene. But you rarely read or hear about the many Republican voters who are sick of RINOs and posers, but not all that comfortable with the far, far right, either.

Really...?? “Don’t knock it. Sounds good to me!”

So if we turn that idea around and it’s Christians being rounded up and executed on tv does that work for you..??

If, and that’s a big if at this point, trump does get re-elected do you really want him going full dictator on people who whom he disagrees..?? Or taking revenge on those who called him names??

Or if biden, or his replacement, gets elected will you be ok with that administration coming after people who disagreed with him?? Like say a majority of people here on FR..??

I can not and will not support any kind of retribution such as you seem to support towards anyone because of their political opinions or personal beliefs. To do so means we have indeed become a dictatorship and that is something I will fight as should any person who still believes in freedom.

Don’t forget the Queen. Either she really isn’t dead and is in cahoots with Trump to bring about the military coup that will return him to the White House, or she died a long while back and her body kept on ice while a body double or something played her part. Oh, and the ravens have departed the Tower of London and England is about to crumble into dust. Nevermind the ravens are still very much there and it’s just a silly, but fun, superstition anyway.

But fear not, they are sure Trump is still president and has the nuclear football.

I wouldn’t be so sure about what trump believes at this point. If the reports are true about his retweeting qanon stuff then I would be concerned that he is causing himself, and by extension, the republican party problems. There are plenty of people who will be turned off by these allegations, true or not. And at this point this is the last thing the party needs.

I’ve spent the last 3 weekends working with my local precinct in contacting voters and I have heard more than once that trump being in the news all the time is sucking the air out of the the room so to speak. When our local candidates are spending more time answering questions about stolen elections, doj conspiracies, etc. and not being able to articulate their platforms to voters then I would say we have a problem.

“If the reports are true about his retweeting qanon stuff then I would be concerned that he is causing himself, and by extension, the republican party problems. “

If he is doing that (and I don’t read what he posts), then he is acting foolishly.

The most troubling aspect of AP “news” is that hundreds of struggling local newspapers are laying off local reporting staff and just slapping in AP propaganda to fill up their news pages. Then these local papers wonder why their readership continues to slide.

I follow the Ravens and they are still there, spoiled and enjoying life. I had not heard the newest Queen story 🤣 Thanks for the laugh! I have read they believe she’s a lizard demon. Now she’s part of the undead dead Trump Justice league? So she and Princess Diana are working together, interesting turn.
I forgot he is still President. It’s just a show, a sitcom, I lack popcorn. It’s all a lesson due to us normies and unbelievers. If only we would wake up, Trump could wipe out all evil and deep staters. I need a scotch, a double.

Gotta love those trickster ravens! Have you seen the chicks? I guess they’re grown now. The videos of them were great, and their Beefeater “Papa” a delight.

I’d forgot the part about Princess Diana not really being dead. What has she been doing all these years? Playing Gin Rummy with JFK Jr, who also isn’t dead? Where do all these undead people hang out, anyway?

LOL! Every Q site should be required to post a warning: “Don’t come here without a beer” but stronger spirits might truly be needed 😅

Ravens are brilliant. Yes, they are quite cute. I believe in 2019 they had the first chicks in 30 years. They have not only remained at the tower but have gone from 6 to 9 with 2 sent to live elsewhere in 2020/21?
She’s hanging out at the Hall of Justice will JFKjr and all the Q super friends, plotting ways to take down the legion of doom! It reminds me of the Super Friends cartoon my little brother watched 🤣
A warning would be helpful. Some days it’s humorous, other days maddening. Always a WT...

That is worrisome, what you are hearing, and I don’t doubt it as I have been hearing similar here.

I think part of it is a Dem plan to “suck the air out of the room” with various manufactured soap operas about Trump. The Jan6 hearings, FBI raid, DOJ stuff, for sure. They announced long ago they planned to smear Republicans as “The Party of QAnon” in the midterms*. The stolen election staying forefront is partly Trump’s doing. A good candidate could counter that by redirecting away from that endless subject and stating his commitment to ensuring election integrity and making it part of his platform. From what I’m hearing, a number of voters want to hear more about the now and plans for the future rather than rehashing the past. And hey, without election integrity, all is lost anyway.

How to keep Jan6, FBI, DOJ, and all the circuses surrounding them from sucking the air out of the room is beyond me. The Dems keep churning this stuff out, and who knows what else they’ve got up their sleeves? They know they need to fire up their own voters seeing as how Biden and Dem policies have been such huge disappointments and disasters. Of course it also fires up Trump’s base (justfiably) in his defense and in defense of Rule of Law. Those more toward the center are growing ever more weary of the turmoil and divisiveness.

Of course the Dems have been incredibly divisive all along while accusing Trump of being the divisive one. Many who voted for Biden did so because of his promise to be a unifier. They have been bitterly disappointed after his infamous Nuremberg Speech. The Dems apparently feel the need to ratchet it up to make it look like Trump is the reason for all the divisiveness so many are so sick and tired of.

I agree Trump isn’t helping himself by retruthing Q stuff, whether through carelessness or pandering to them. If the MSM keep beating that drum, it could become a real problem. The leftist media have been carrying on about it for some time now.

As the article states, Trump has been winking at Q for years.

Now he is being very direct for those who are slower.

It looks like he’ll have to go to the next level for those who are retarded.

They are *very* smart birds. And organized thieves. On time back in the late 90s I stayed at a commie resort on the Bay of Finland in Russia for a couple of days. I will leave out the details (which are hair-raisingly amusing), but let’s just say one is better off to get one’s own food elsewhere. So off to the tiny shop, long walk. Not much to choose from, got a small smoked ham, loaf of bread, hunk of cheese, liter of Baltica beer. Stashed it on the little balcony where it was plenty cool (no fridges in commie resorts).

A thieving gang of ravens stole it all! Yes! How could they pick up that little ham and fly off with it? It took three of them together. Oh well, at least the stupid beer is left. Surely they would have no interest in it, let alone be able to fly off with it.

Nope, glass liter bottle of Baltica gone next time I looked. Why? What did ravens want with it? How would they open it? I looked down. They’d dropped it and were drinking from the remains of the broken bottle. Happy ravens.

So many ravens in the St. Petersburg area. The only birds you see in that area, at least back then. Too smart to be captured or killed. People were very, very hungry at the time. It was heartbreaking.

Of course! The Hall of Justice! I always thought the Qverse sounded like something out of a DC Comics movie (although I’ve never watched one). Super Hero Trump with his mighty sword (or trident) against the Cabal of Arch Villains. The Super Friends cartoon might be an even better fit. Legion of Doom! Love it! 😂

Ah, well. If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane.

Awesome story! Working together must be how a group of Raven got the name a conspiracy of ravens. I have fed a couple here with cracked corn, and an occasional fresh egg. They won’t come if we are outside. Perhaps they’d enjoy a bit of scotch. I may try leftover’s and a good strong brew. A conspiracy of drinking buddies 🍻
SO true, tis better to laugh than go insane🤪
