Is there anybody here who is familiar with the process of making computer chips?

Posted on 09/16/2022 12:43:00 AM PDT by Jonty30

I'm just curious about the process from the point of CAD to where they have computer chips ready to sell.

Thanks in advance if somebody can explain it for us non-techies.

Then, slice the computers into thin layers.

Dude, you need the right kind of slicer.

The video in post #5 will give you a better overview than I'll be able to do on FR. If you have a specific question....I'll be glad to answer if I can. (Chip-making is more technical than most expect)

I retired from a chip-making career that began in 1967 with the start-up of National Semiconductor. I retired from Texas Instrument at the end of 1994.
