Taiwanese Gogoro has an interchangeable battery so you can quickly get a new charge and not have to plug your vehicle into the electrical system.
The batteries in the charging station will charge-up during off-peak hours in order to save money.

Cars will need a similar setup, but with the packs robotically switched out. The problem will be in standardizing batteries just as gasoline formulas were generally standardized. As a Benz owner you wouldn't want to get a Dodge/Fiat quality pack loaded at the battery "pump".

What if I don’want one of these batteries in my car, period? Filling up takes less than 5 minutes, and one tank gets me about 500 highway miles.
What idiot would want to change this human advance?
