Republicans in New England Have Nominated Conservatives Across the Board

Posted on 09/14/2022 6:53:52 AM PDT by cotton1706

Now that the primaries are officially over, it's clear that even in "blue" New England, Republicans are abandoning Establishment "moderate" Republicans

Connecticut:

Republicans nominated Trump-endorsed Leora Levy for US Senate instead of pro-gun-control, pro-gay marriage, pro-abortion, McConnell-preferred Themis Klarides

Maine:

Republicans nominated former Governor Paul LePage for governor again

Massachusetts:

Republicans nominated Trump-endorsed Geoff Diehl for governor instead of Charlie Baker and Chris Sununu-endorsed Chris Doughty

New Hampshire:

Republicans nominated Don Bolduc for US Senate, Karoline Leavitt for US House District 1 and Robert Burns for US House District 2 (all three defeating Chris Sununu-endorsed candidates)

Vermont:

Republicans nominated Gerald Malloy for US Senate instead of climate-change-believing, McConnell-preferred, man-looking lesbian Christina Nolan

In a Republican wave year, New England Republicans are going for broke!

We're not supporting the Charlie Baker, Chris Sununu, Jim Jeffords, Chris Shays, Olympia Snow, Warren Rudman-type Republicans anymore!

On to November!

These states are an uphill battle for non-RINOs, but you have to start somewhere to present alternatives to ruin.

The Establishment wing of the Republican Party spent millions of dollars from corporate donors in a failed effort to win primaries where the historic tendency has been to support Assistant Democrats. The last conservative Republican to hold statewide office in Massachusetts was the elder Henry Cabot Lodge, and that was a century ago. It appears that the GOP base, even in RINO strongholds, is going MAGA.

Since the Goldwater-Johnson Presidential race in 1964, the left wing of the Republican Party has sabotaged conservative winners of party primaries. Expect the same in 2022.

It’s a start. State legislature, county and township commissioners, and school boards need to be dominated by America First people.

The largest voting block in NH is “Undeclared”(38%). Also, known as Independent. They are sick of both parties. They represent more registered voters than either the Dems or Reps in NH.

These are the people that swing the election one way of another.
They also tend to be the low information voter. They did not vote in yesterdays primary. They are busy coaching their kids soccer team. Making a living. Politics in general, turns them off. But they do vote in the general election and absolutely in Presidential elections.

It will be interesting to see how the vote goes in November.

It will be also interesting to see how much money the RNC gives to the MAGA candidates.

It will be further interesting to see if the RNC or individual GOPe/Vichy Republicans produce attack ads against MAGA Republicans.

For his faults, Newt Gingrich had a brilliant idea with the Contract For America. A simple, short and practical list of things a Republican majority could reasonably carry out.

Because it was clear and concise enough for the rank and file to understand, and not easy to fiddle with, add pork, or otherwise neuter, the RINOs hated it.

But the public loved it. Bitterly, the RINOs swore to never ever again let such a list be compiled.

But most of them are now out of office.

This means that with the new red wave, a new Contract With America II needs to be created, to help give them direction and purpose and unity.

The Free Republic forum is a great place to start making this new list.

It should be limited to just 10 items, and ones that can be solely enacted by congress, assuming a hostile POTUS.

Initially, there may be 100 items on the list, but it will have to be culled to the 10 most popular, most important, and most likely. (Save the other 90 for later).

According to Dave Wesserman from Redstrict election desk, Says that those MAGA Republicans cannot beat the Democrats in those state so they have flipped the column from toss up to a probable D win. Now my question is ….is this guy legit? Do the MAGA candidates have a chance? Apparently Wesserman has been right on the money on races! Anyone know who he is?

“Do the MAGA candidates have a chance? Apparently Wesserman has been right on the money on races! Anyone know who he is?”

It’s a Republican wave year, when unexpected things happen and people are swept into office who otherwise wouldn’t be.

It’s quite possible Wesserman is right. But I doubt it. Because his world has been where Republicans nominate “winnable” candidates who then lose. We’re in new territory.

Paul LePage wasn’t supposed to win in Maine either, or get reelected. But he did. And the prognosicators were in shock. Because he wasn’t a “winnable” candidate. But he won. And then he couldn’t win again, the prognosicators said. But he did.

So I don’t buy what these people say because they’re working from old paradigms. The current electorate is very fluid, and they don’t know what’s going to happen.

We’ll see in November what will happen.

Especially le pen- he was a pretty tough conservative in Maine. The liberals hated him.

Guess again. 😁

Undeclared can vote in the primaries. You just ask for the primary ballot of the party you want to vote in, then when you are done, change it back to undeclared.

I understand that NH has an open primary.
However, it is very rare when Independents bother to vote in the primaries in off years like 2022. They simply don't care. They are apathetic.

It is different in the First in the Nation Primary for POTUS.
That is why we end up with people like McCain winning the NH primary.
