The views I expressed have nothing to do with leftist thought. THey are based on in person observation in the areas I am familiar with. I’m sure that there are other areas where what you describe is also true. Reality is different in different places. Have there been the kinds of education changes in the areas you know like the ones I have seen over the years in the areas I know? What is the status of trades education in the public schools you know, do the schools you know still have daily phys ed classes?
A dreamy, out-of-touch bubble you live in, but you are going to tell us contractors and tradesmen who have lived through this 50-year mess how it is.
There is a reason that Americans were driven out of the trades since the 1965 Immigration Act and a reason why the construction of new homes is so shoddy today and has been for decades, some of us watched for 50 years as home construction done by Mexicans ended quality and craftsmanship, Mexico is incompetent in construction and now it is here.
I’ve seen this countless times, the dreamy woman seeing a Mexican sweating in her yard or on a roof and her thinking that whites, won’t do that hard work because her husband doesn’t do it, not knowing a whit about the last 50 years in construction and what really takes place.
Trades don’t require schools, that is more leftist/unionist thinking, helpers become journeymen, try walking onto a Mexican construction site and asking for an entry-level labor job if you are white or black.
Mexico being a land of quality construction workers is just plain silly, it is Mexico because Mexicans live and work there, and it shows in their cheap, shoddy, sloppy construction.
