No, not a good response, because they just gave up control but they still own the assets
Like a President in office, they put their assets under the control of a trust, yet they still own the assets.
Which is worse actually, because now the ones making policy knows what to invest in. Under the agreement of giving up control of the government the Monarchy no longer makes governmental decisions.
At least with the monarchy in control there is a chance they will not be doing insider trading, since they no longer make policy,
But with the help of politicians, they can be assured the Monarchy keeps on making a killing while being assured they will in turn help the right political buddies stay in power.
Either way is risky, but I would have preferred the Royal family stay in control of the assets and thus the government would then de assured to watch them closer, now the ones doing the watching are doing the trading
