It’s great to know I’m not the only sick mind out there. I thought of this within seconds of reading that Elizabeth had passed away.
I thought of Waylon Jennings, Bob Wills is still the King

She outlived some of the Beatles. Born before each of them.
I was at that concert!
Done in the style of cheeky British singer
George Formby (”Leaning on a Lamppost”),just
a little folky thing on ukelele, banjo or guitar.
The video for Free As a Bird ends with a Formby-like performer on stage with Formby’s catch phrase (turned out nice again) said by John, I think.
“The phrase “Turned out nice again” at the end of the song is a reference to George Formby, a musical hall entertainer who played the ukulele and is represented in the closing scenes of the video. “Turned out nice again” was Formby’s catchphrase. The connection here is that George Harrison played the ukulele and was a member of the George Formby Appreciation Society. He even attended their gatherings. Harrison was said to have had a ukulele in every room of his home and gave one to McCartney early on in their career. >>”—Songfacts
True, she outlived George and John, though one would assume that she’s had a much better security detail than the latter.
Small world.
Always loved the 8ish song medley preceding this on abbey rd. Always thought this song was an anticlimactic end to an awesome album. But a fitting song for today I’ll admit.
Thanks for thinking of this! RIP Elizabeth.
Color me biased but when it came to queenly talent, Elizabeth comes in second after Freddy Mercury.
