A dog fight in Marina between two pit bulls ended with one being stabbed to death with a pocket knife.
Police say a woman was walking her dog on a leash when another dog bolted from the front door of a home on Reindollar Avenue and Zanetta Drive and attacked the dog on the leash.
After attempting to separate the animals, the woman of the leashed pit bull used a pocket knife in her possession to break up the fight.
The unleashed dog did not survive.
The leashed pit bull needed multiple stitches and was injured on the top of its head, mouth, ears, and paws.
The owner of the unleashed dog was cited for failure to exercise proper care and control of the animal.
Marina police said the owner has been cited previously in a similar situation.

Too bad we cannot go back to the days when bicyclists and people walking their dogs could carry a Velodog for such encounters.
I saw what you did there. To be fair and less bias, You should have said 97% making the 3% here on FR look bad as they blame the other 97% of dog owners for all bad pit bull behavior.
And they didn't have the dog killed then? At least it was the attacking dog that died and not the woman.
