It’s been awhile but I still remember a conversation I had with an Englishman that I was doing business with and the subject of the monarchy came up.
I told I thought the idea of Kings and Queens was just so “yesterday” and the Brits should give it up.
His answer: “We love our Queen”. There is something about having a king or queen that the Brits just want to hold on to.

Some years back they did a study to find out how much the Monarchy & Nobility cost the UK overall. In spite of the Monarch being a Billionaire yet getting an annual pay packet from the taxpayers, the nation still makes a profit on the system as a whole.
